I grew up on a farm in Kirkby-in-Furness and from an early age developed a love of animals particularly horses. This took me to Newark Technical College where I studied for my British Horse Society Assistant Instructors examination. After qualifying I then moved up to Bamburgh in Northumberland to become head girl in a busy riding school/livery yard. Four years later I returned to the Furness area and met John who was then working in a mixed practice in Kendal. We were married in August 1981.
We now live in Dalton-in-Furness with our two boys, Jack and Josh, a horse called Jinny and her filly foal Milly.
I enjoy helping out in the practice and know many of our clients - some of whom I haven't seen since my school days at Dowdales!
