Radiography

This procedure is quick and painless although animals generally need to be sedated or anaesthetised in order for us to get the picture that we need, and also to avoid un-necessary exposure of our staff to potentially harmful radiation, and allow us to conform to HSE regulations.

Radiography is used on a daily basis in the practice to assist in the diagnosis of a variety of medical and surgical conditions. The study of X-rays known as Radiology is a vast, interesting and diverse subject which can shed light on many problems other than just broken bones!

We also take X-rays of soft tissues in the body to look for abnormalities of size, position, etc, sometimes things that have been swallowed or even that have grown where they should not be!

A fascinating subject - we can even tell if your tortoise is going to lay eggs!
