Lisbeth Tuckey BVSc MRCVS
I qualified from the University of Liverpool in 1985 and spent the first ten years of my professional working life in small animal practice predominately in the north-west of England.
In 1995 I moved up to Cumbria to get married and begin a parallel career in lecturing and course management in Animal Care at Newton Rigg College, Penrith.
Following three immensely enjoyable years of teaching, I returned to clinical veterinary practice working for the PDSA Blackpool Pet Aid Hospital on a part-time basis. During this period I also maintained my teaching skills by working for the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Veterinary Nursing Department verifying much of the North West region’s veterinary nurse training programme.
I left the PDSA in 2001 to have my daughter and whilst she was young, continued veterinary work on a weekend and holiday cover basis for a small animal practice in Preston.
I joined Alexander Veterinary Centre in September 2005 and have a varied case load of small animal medical and surgical cases. I also enjoy working with birds and reptiles.
I love living in Cumbria and my hobbies outside of work include walking, gardening, wildlife, craftwork and caring for my family and pets.
