Laboratory

The practice is equipped with a laboratory for on site performance of blood chemistry, haematology and electrolyte tests.

Various other microscopic and diagnostic procedures are carried out and some samples are submitted to commercial Veterinary Laboratories for analysis.

We can look at skin samples taken from your pets, to find evidence of ringworm, or ectoparasites such as fleas and lice. The microscope is used to look for these parasites, but can also serve to look at faecal smears for egg counts and blood smears to see what is going on there, and numerous other things.

Various other tests can be done on site, such as testing for cat leukaemia and FIV - a similar viral condition.
